How we earn (affiliate disclosure)
How Spare Controller makes money, and why it doesn't change what we recommend.
Spare Controller is free to read. To cover our costs, some links on this site are affiliate links.
What that means
When you click an affiliate link and buy something, the retailer may pay us a small commission. You don't pay anything extra. The price is the same as if you'd gone to the retailer directly.
We may participate in affiliate programs run through networks such as Rakuten Advertising, including programs for game retailers. Affiliate links are marked in our code as sponsored links, and every article that contains them carries a short note at the top.
What it doesn't mean
- Retailers and brands don't pay us to be included in guides.
- They don't see or approve our articles before publication.
- Commission rates don't affect which products we recommend. Where the best choice for a reader is to buy nothing, or to buy something we don't earn from (like using a free app, or keeping an existing controller), we say so.
