Independence

We decide what to write about and what to recommend. Affiliate partnerships don't influence which products we include or how we describe them. We recommend products from many brands and link to retailers where readers can buy them.

Accuracy

We check facts against primary sources wherever possible (see How we research). Where information is uncertain or changing — rumored products, prices in flux — we say so.

Corrections

If we get something wrong, we fix it and update the "last checked" note on the article. Significant corrections are noted in the article.

Sponsored content

We don't currently publish sponsored articles. If we ever do, they will be clearly labeled "Sponsored" at the top, kept separate from our independent guides, and never disguised as editorial recommendations. See Work with us.

Children and families

Much of our audience shops for children. We always mention age ratings, online communication and in-game purchases where relevant, and we link to parental-control guidance.

Trademarks

Product names and trademarks belong to their owners. Spare Controller is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by any console maker or retailer.
